The 'Chivas Regal' Kitchen
A truly unique kitchen, using characterful, locally-grown timber in a simple, clean-lined design without handles.
Our clients were keen cooks, and so the layout of cabinets and appliances had to be very carefully considered so the kitchen would function well within the existing space and serve to enhance their day-to-day culinary experience.
This project also involved a full restoration of the room — spanning plumbing, wiring, insulating, plastering, painting, wall and floor tiling. All of the above was carried out by trusted tradesmen and carefully project managed by Lethenty
This kitchen was formed using 130 panels of Aberdeenshire Elm. All the exterior timber surfaces — doors, drawer fronts, plinth, cornice — were made with Elm from one tree, felled in the grounds of the Strathisla Distillery in Keith — hence the 'Chivas Regal' Kitchen.
Milled, seasoned and dried by Lethenty, it took our team of cabinetmakers many days of careful and concentrated work to select, machine and assemble all the separate components.
We're delighted to say this is the second kitchen we have made for these particular clients — having built a Sycamore kitchen in their first house six years earlier.
