The Lethenty
Difference
While other furniture makers or kitchen designers might base their work on a standard set of designs, we begin each project with a blank sheet of paper, an open mind and a shared vision. That's what the word "bespoke" really means to us.
We have no standard range of designs – we are comfortable working in a wide variety of styles – clean lined contemporary, classical tradition, naturally organic or solid practicality. We custom-make everything in our Aberdeenshire workshop, to suit the exact requirements of each client.
Bespoke is the antithesis of the 'Add to Basket' approach to business. We prioritise good communication with our customers and appreciate the value of shared vision.
Our customers are investing time, energy and money into something that has never existed before. We will respond to their trust and work with skill and experience to bring the initial pencil sketch into the light of day as a new piece of bespoke furniture. This becomes an enjoyable and rewarding process for all involved.
That's what we aim for at Lethenty Cabinetmakers — that's the Lethenty Difference.

FAQs
The scale and complexity of the bespoke kitchen project will largely dictate the timescales, but allowing 5 months is a wise estimate.
For reference, a 'typical' project timeline would be:
Weeks 1-2 — Showroom visit, discussions, agreed direction, kitchen consultation at home
Weeks 3-5 — Scale drawings, initial quotation, customer consideration
Weeks 6-7 — Refinement of designs and fixed quote
Weeks 8-15 — Job added to workshop queue, kitchen constructed in workshop, client approves prior to finishing
Weeks 16-19 — Completion of kitchen and coordinating installation
Kitchen:
Producing a genuinely bespoke kitchen is a time consuming business and this is reflected in the cost. Typically, our kitchens cost between £40,000 and £60,000 excluding VAT and appliances. Some projects cost less; some have cost considerably more. The costs can vary enormously depending on the choice of materials used and on the construction techniques employed.
Furniture:
Most people expect that bespoke furniture will cost more than mass produced furniture – the real question is how much more? Twice as much? Three times as much? The answer of course is... it depends...
The short answer – Several times the cost of mass produced furniture. Here are some (very rough) estimates.
Beds £4,000 to £9,000
Dressers £8,000 to £12,000
Dining Tables £4,000 to £9,000
Coffee Tables £3,000 to £5,000
